How are .org.au Domains affected from July 1st, 2002 ?
From July 1st, 2002 .org.au Domain names must be assigned to a Registrar and renewed every 2 years. However all .org.au Domains have been adjusted as if they were renewed on July 1st, 2002 Therefore all .org.au Domain names in existence on 1st July, 2002 are setup to expire and be due for renewal on July 1st, 2004. This adjustment was done by au DA, the governing body for .au domains This means that you may do nothing until the date of renewal in 2004 approaches but keep the following in mind: 1. To make any changes whatsoever to your .org.au Domain name, including changing where you host your Domain name, you must first assign it to a Registrar. 2. To be notified when your Domain name is due for renewal, and not forgetting about it and risk letting it lapse and registered by someone else, you need to have it assigned to a Registrar.
