How are ONS Congress and IOL speakers selected?

0

Individuals submitting the Topic Submission form suggest potential speakers. The final selection of session coordinators is determined by the Project Team. Speakers should be representative of the ONS membership by being both geographically and culturally diverse. Each speaker should be from a different geographical area. Selecting speakers from different geographic locations encourages presentation of different regional practice perspectives. Speakers should be experts in the topic they will be presenting. The selection of ONS member speakers is preferred. However, if the expertise needed for a session topic is not available from within the ONS membership, non-member speakers may be used. All speakers should have good presentation skills. Speakers may present at only one invitational session per conference. At the ONS Annual Congress, for example, invitational sessions include PreCongress and 90 minute sessions.
