How are online courses different than traditional classes?
While online courses are academically equivalent to on-campus courses, they demand a lot from the student. Students must recognize that they need good time management skills in order to be successful online. By using the Internet, you are able to communicate with your instructor and other students in your class. You can participate in online discussions and send and receive your assignments using our online system. There are two types of online class at Moraine Valley. Fully “online” classes do not meet on campus at all, although you may have to take your tests at the Testing Center. “Classroom/online” classes meet occasionally on campus. Whichever type you are in, however, you should recognize that online courses do have established assignment due dates throughout the semester, just as traditional courses do.
