How are new data types added to the MIRIAM Database?
It is important to note that all new data types must be registered manually by a MIRIAM Database curator. The curators may add new data types from time to time as they encounter them, but generally the creation of new data types should be considered as being ‘on demand’ from the community. The main method by which the community requests the addition of a new data type is through the submission page. This submission process is available to absolutely everyone. There are some suggestions on how make a submission, and how submissions are handled depends on whether or not the user is a ‘curator’.
