How are monthly updated CD-ROMs administered?
Both administration and usage of monthly updated CD-ROMs, e.g. Computer Select, normally present problems. Each month the access rights for the new CD have to be set, and the users have to mount a new folder named after the volume name of the new CD. The StorPoint CD presents an elegant solution to this problem. For each CD-ROM drive an alias name can be set. The corresponding access rights for the alias name will override the rights set for the CD-ROM. This means that the access rights can be set once and for all, and the users will always access the same folder.
