How are MMC light sources assembled?
Raw tritium light sources made of borosilicate glass are enclosed in a polypropylene and silicone tube, then secured into place using a cyanoacrylate and rubber compound. The lens of the light source is made using a UV cured optical gel. When cured, MMC’s lenses exhibit a refractive index of 1.56, a tensile strength of 4,000 psi, and a modulus of elasticity of 200,000 psi. In short, it’s the most durable and optically clear lens possible for a tritium light source.
