How Are Midis Useful?
Midis are good for several reasons. Here are a few: 1. Listening pleasure. (For me this is #1. I love to hear other people play.) Midi Files are playable on just about every MAC, Windows and Linux platforms or electronic musical instrument. 2. Midis are an excellent learning tool. If you have the free Vanbasco Karaoke Player (www.vanbasco.com) or PG Music’s Power Tracks (www.pgmusic.com), you can hear how a song is played and see exactly which notes are being played by the musicians. You can also print up sheet music from them, with chord symbols. If you want to hear only the drum line so the drummer can rehearse, you can mute the other portions out 3. Some vocalist, choirs & churches use them for accompaniment. For some churches midis are the Music Ministry.
