How are mentors for the non-residency sessions selected?

Often mentors are suggested by the faculty or the Dean of Graduate Programs. Alternately, students may propose to work with a specific mentor. To propose a mentor, a student has the mentor submit an Application Form along with a resume to be approved by the Dean of Graduate Programs. Mentors should have experience with advanced undergraduate or graduate students and be conversant with the issues that a student is addressing. Students work with two to four mentors during the four non-residency sessions. You do not have to identify a mentor before the first September residency.
