How are men with long beards perceived in todays society?
It all depends how you compliment your beard with the rest of your outside appearance and fashion choices and also on the culture you live in. Long beards just aren’t that common nowadays in western society so most of the time it’s either associated with poverty (homeless people who simply aren’t able to groom), rebelliousness (biker gangs, other sub-cultures with distinct fashions), or intellectual authority (scientists, teachers, etc. who just don’t have time or patience for grooming.) Of course these are only initial impressions people tend to have based on certain stereotypes, but men who choose to grow long beards usually seem to be interesting folks in some way or another.
