How are members of the SCC chosen?

They composition of the SCC is defined in statute. At the elementary and middle school levels they are composed of the principal and at least one from the following groups: parents, teachers, non-certificated school staff, community representatives, and students. For high schools the following is the minimal composition: parents, teachers, non-certificated school staff, community representatives, and students. Each member is elected by ballot from the community they represent.
