How are materials reviewed?

The CASRC Program Managers and Material Review Board (MRB) use research-based, standards-aligned, after school-appropriate review forms to evaluate materials submitted to the Center. The CASRC Review Criteria were developed in conjunction with CASRC’s Consulting Team and content experts to ensure that high-quality materials are acquired for the Center’s library collection. The criteria are downloadable from the Resource Library section of the Web site for easy access and reference for selecting appropriate materials to submit for CASRC review. Publishers/resource developers are not required to complete the review forms (this is done by the MRB). Ideally, materials in the CASRC collection are user-friendly, flexible, and interactive for optimal after school use.
