The issue of uploading, updating and retrieving maintenance and technical log via the Advanced Mission Display System(AMDS) is one that has a number of regulatory implications, especially in relation to updating and sign-off. Our current approach is to use biometrics (finger print) for sign-off, using 1024-bit PKI, and dual storage on ground (at Engineering & Maintenance) and on the onboard system at all times. The implementation of this process is based on customisation, in line with an agreed on a case-by-case basis with the regulatory authority responsible for that customer.
