How Are Lutheran Schools Staffed?
“Certified teachers who model visionary leadership by inspiring a shared vision staff Lutheran Schools.” They practice stewardship of resources, build up others, and empathize with others. They model servant leadership as those they lead ‘become healthier, wiser, freer, more autonomous, more likely themselves to become servants.” (Robert K. Greenleaf) Additionally they model moral leadership by studying God’s Word, sharing their personal faith story, exhibiting a passion for ministry, acting courageously, equipping God’s people for service, caring for others, demonstrating integrity, and praying. In this country the Lutheran Education Association (http://www.lea.org) is one of the oldest professional educators’ organizations, publishing the longest running educational journal in the country. Lutheran educators are involved with professional development opportunities, continuing education, and accreditation processes to help their schools along a path of continual improvement and growth
