How are longer sentences produced?
• By adding extra information about Marcovic, or extra information about the theory, e.g. ‘Marcovic, a scientist in Prague, produced a theory of robotics.’ • By using a ‘relative clause’ (‘who’, ‘where’, ‘which’, ‘whose’, etc.), e.g. ‘Marcovic, who worked day and night, produced a theory of robotics which was not valid.’ • By answering a ‘wh’ question (‘what?’, ‘who?’, ‘when?’, ‘where?’, ‘how?’, ‘which?’), e.g. ‘Marcovic produced a theory of robotics in Prague’, or ‘Marcovic produced a theory of robotics by working day and night.’ • By joining ideas together.
