How are listings sorted (ranked)?
The default sort order on VacationRentals.com is based on the following factors: 1. The Featured Property of the week appears at the top, but may lose this position if the property is booked during the filtered dates. 2. Listings with Deals appear next and are sorted by primarily last calendar update (most recently updated appearing first), then by the monetary value of the deal. 3. Listings without Deals appear next and are sorted by last calendar update. Additional sort criteria includes – Number of bedrooms (low to high) – Number of bathrooms (low to high) – Date listed on the site (most recently listed at the bottom) If multiple properties all have the same features, they are then sorted randomly by computer. This approach has helped to make VacationRentals.com a reliable vacation rental directory and is one of the reasons traffic continues to grow week to week.
