HOW ARE HOUSING ASSIGNMENTS MADE?
Housing assignments are made by the Office of Residential Life using the First-Year Housing Preference Form mailed in May. Our staff carefully reviews each application and places students by their preferences and interests. Although not all preferences can be met, we believe that placing by hand is more effective than random assignments or computer matches.
First-time freshman students live together in the residence hall. Women live in North Hall and men live in Memorial and Hicks Halls. Upperclassman transfer students will be placed with other upperclassman students in other residence halls. Beginning in June you will have the opportunity to have a hand in choosing your own roommate. To do this, you will need to sign in to myGCC (https://my.gcc.edu), join the “New Students-Fall 2009” Group, and click on “Roommate Finder” on the left-hand side of the page. Please note that roommate requests must be mutual in order to be assigned. If you prefer to have the College match you with a roommate, please follow these instructions and complete the Lifestyle Preferences portion of the Roommate Finder tool. This information will be used to find the most compatible roommate for you. Grove City College does its best to accommodate housing requests but cannot guarantee them.
Room assignments are made according to the date you submit your housing contract, prepayment and application fee; the earlier the better! We make assignments based on the options you request on the housing preference section of your contract application. We can only use the information you provide us, so be sure to indicate your preferences such as smoking, community living options, etc.
