I just happened by and saw your question. I have personal experience with repressed memories I needed to deal with in order to have a quality sober life. I was phyically and mentally abused by my dad when I was living at home and til the age of close to 40. Obviously the physical part had stopped by then but the emotional didn’t. I dealt with these things in several ways. I had help for all of it. I used professionals, Friends, and God. One of the ways, and probably should be used with all of the work, is to pray to God for help in the work about to be done. Because it is work and it takes a commitment to go on.Because let’s face it nobody likes to be uncomfortable about their feelings of who they are, what they’ve done or who they’ve become. God will walk you through all of it. I used drugs and alcohol all my life. I had to stop that stuff and deal with my emotions. And feel the stuff that I was trying to deal with. I won’t lie, it kinda sucked. But it was part of a journey that i’m g
