How are handpicked items chosen for the Etsy front page?

Featured items on our home page are selected by Etsy staff daily, usually by choosing a theme and using one of our search tools to find fitting items. We also look at Treasury lists created by Etsy users and will often feature the items from one of these. Any item actively listed on Etsy is eligible to be chosen, and we try our best to mix things up.
