How are GTP trainees assessed?
DRBs differ in what they require in terms of assessment. One assignment per term seems standard. Trainees are also expected to produce a portfolio of evidence showing how they are meeting the standards for QTS. Trainees normally attend Professional Studies sessions once a week, which will help build evidence for the portfolio. Trainees are observed teaching by a school-based mentor and visiting tutors from the DRB on a regular basis. Once your mentor & DRB are confident that a trainee has met all the standards required to achieve QTS, final verification will take place.
