How are groups formed and dissolved within a community?
A group is created by simply clicking on the New Group button in your Groups and Members panel. A new group icon appears in the list, which you can immediately name. You can then drag-and-drop people from other groups or from the master User List into your new group, or you can have people not currently in the community apply online for membership to your group. It is as easy to reverse the process and delete a group that has fulfilled its purpose. Perhaps first drag and drop people to other groups, or end any user’s membership in the community. So, groups are a very dynamic part of the workBench that make it possible for any team to come together, perform a task, and dissolve. Its members can continue to be part of the community or not. A teacher can create short-term groups as part of a two-week digital collaboration with classes in Serbia, or a statewide team of teachers can come together to revise standards or share outcomes.
