How are generators selected?
Most generators are selected through a formal Request for Proposals (RFP) process. When new generation is required to support NC GreenPower participant subscriptions, the program resource committee may issue a request for specific resources needed to complete the current resource mix. The resource committee may also procure resources from a standing portfolio of available projects. Interested suppliers are invited to prepare proposals detailing their projects, costs, timelines, etc., for this portfolio. Submissions may be made at any time. Resources may be selected for one of NC GreenPower’s two primary products or may be brokered directly to a qualifying purchaser.
