How are gene regulatory proteins (like transcription factors) produced?

In the nucleus of every cell, there is a DNA template that codes for the manufacturing of any protein. So basically, when a protein is needed, a signal will be sent to the nucleus of the cell to begin manufacturing them. Proteins are made of amino acids which are coded from the DNA. In other words, as long as the DNA template is intact, the manufacturing of an infinite number of proteins is possible. You would use the same gene (segment of DNA) for the manufacturing of a specific protein over and over again.
