How are existing noise levels determined?
• Actual sound level measurements taken at representative receivers: these measurements should be performed at the worst hour. • Prediction by using the Traffic Noise Model provided there are no other noise sources present • Combination of sound level measurements and prediction with the Traffic Noise Model after validation or calibration; validation and calibration do not need to be performed at the worst traffic hour.
