How are ETFs priced?
As ETFs track the performance of a particular index, their base price is closely related to the value of the underlying benchmark. ETFs are also open ended allowing more units to be created when demand requires, so their price is not dictated by supply and demand, but reflects the underlying value of the assets. Up to the minute prices for all ETFs can be found online, in any of the following ways once you have logged into your account: • enter the EPIC code (symbol) into Real Time Price quote (top left of all pages), or • select the Research tab and enter either the symbol or the word “iShares” into the search box for both real time and historic prices • alternatively, if you plan to trade, enter the EPIC code into the dealing page for up to the minute bid/offer prices. • See below for more information on the research available for all ETFs.
