How are equivalent fractions different?

0

Well from what I remember equivalent fractions are like 1/2, 2/4, and 3/6. To me they are different by the number of sections each is divided into like for 1/2 there are two sections, 2/4 there are four, etc. They are also different in the sense of how many sections are needed to have half of them. In 1/2 only one is needed you get the point, other wise i would assume that they would be the same. I hope I helped and actually understand this problem as to not make like a total fool of myself in the math world.
