How are emergency placements handled?
Protocol is developed, but as long as justification is made and written findings of reasonable efforts and exigent circumstances are contained in a probable cause affidavit, costs will be covered if the youth is released prior to the need for a detention hearing. If a detention hearing is held, then t he exigent findings and reasonable efforts language needs to be in the order and any additional placement recommendations should be referred to the service consultant.
