How are decisions made by the Investigation and Review Committees?
The Investigation Committee makes decisions based on the information they have at hand. If more information is warranted before a decision can be made, the case is recommended to move forward. If the committee believes there is adequate information to close the case, the case is closed and no further action is necessary. In cases where the violation is egregious, the case is moved to University Judicial Affairs. The Review Committee makes decisions based on the information provided and additional fact finding. If the committee believes there is adequate information to close the case, the case is closed and no further action is necessary. If the student is found to have violated the Honor Code, a sanction is imposed based off sanctioning guidelines and preceding case outcomes.
