How are database identifiers found?

0

We identify database IDs from the Protein Data Bank and UniProtKB by finding IDs that have already been marked-up during the publication process and by using regular expressions on the full text of the article. Potential IDs are compared to existing IDs from both databases to remove matching strings that do not correspond to actual database records. Support for other databases, such as Entrez, will be added soon.
