How are convention sites selected?
Sites are rotated around the country to make access easier for members. Cities are chosen based on local hotel accommodations such as the number of sleeping rooms, the available meeting and exhibition space and of course, the cost to members. Air traffic flow into the city plus local resources like museums and architectural interests also influence the choice.
