How are contests judged? What makes a winning show?

Very simply, we watch all the shows and pick the winners. Shows might win because they make great use of the software, or they might win because they are simply very enjoyable shows. We are not judging on specific criteria – we are simply out to find great slide shows. How many contests are there a year? Currently, we have three contests each year, each one lasting 4 months. We used to have monthly contests, but we got a lot of requests to give people more time to prepare their entries. Does my show have to match the theme exactly? Think of the theme as a rough guide. It’s not a firm rule, and it’s open to interpretation. If you’re in doubt, enter your show anyway! How long should my show be? That’s entirely up to you. There are no restrictions on length for the contest. However, we’ve learned over the years that 3-5 minutes is a pretty good length for slide shows in generally. Much longer, and you risk losing the attention of your audience.
