The grading policy applies to all ensembles within our organization. Band is a performance based activity that requires technical and musical proficiency. Additionally, there are National Standards that govern the direction of music education in our schools. Rehearsal Attendance: 10 points per day (5 points if in SWEEP) Performance Attendance: 250 points per performance Playing Test: 75 points per test (unless otherwise announced) Written: announced upon assignment Playing Finals / Final Exams: may be points or pass/fail, as announced in class Quarter Grades: percentage = earned points total number of possible points Semester Grades: semester grades are based on a 40/40/20 grading system. Each quarter carrys 40% while the Final Exam carrys 20% of the overall semester grade.
