How are computers used in kindergarten?
Kindergarten students use the computers in the classroom at least once every school day. They play games such as Blues Clues, Sammy’s Science House and Kid Pix to reinforce skills. They also learn how to log onto the school server using their student number. They are required to access Earobics daily which is a program that reinforces listening skills and phonological awareness. At times we may access a learning site over the internet. However all sites are accessed by the teachers only. At NO time does a kindergarten student "surf" the net! As far as they know they are just playing learning games.
