How are clinics run for Nutrition and Naturopathy?

Please visit www.cnmstudent.com and click on ‘Clinics’ – most of the information you need is located there. The cost of running a clinic is shared amongst the students and the average cost is around £30 per day (for 8 clinic hours). In the first year of Naturopathy specialist training or Nutrition, students observe the lecturer taking cases in a class environment. Each casetaking is followed up with a discussion and worked through in class. In the second year students start taking cases and are assessed by the Clinic Leader throughout the year to ensure competence in practice. At the end of the second year students are confident in casetaking and have completed 10 cases (each one with a follow-up). These are reviewed by the Clinic Leader and then submitted to the relevant professional body for registration. Further information is available in the Clinic Handbook on the CNM student website. Patients: Students are required to volunteer as patients as part of their training.
