How are chips, rust and other damage dealt with during the surface preparation process?
Chips, cracks and other damage in the original surface should always be repaired before refinishing. In fact, thats one of the major reasons sanitary ware is refinished. Part of the process is fixing all types of damage. The area is filled to match the contour of the surrounding area, smoothed to blend ready for resurfacing. Different repair materials are used, depending on the original surface. For instance, the materials used to repair porcelain are different from that used on fibreglass and so on. Can a previously resurfaced surface be resurfaced again? A surface that was previously resurfaced may be resurfaced again.
