How are children assigned to a foster home?
Foster parents will identify the types of children they would like to have (age, gender, special needs, etc). When children enter our system, Family Services staff will contact the homes with appropriate space and work with foster parents to place the children. Placements can occur at any time of the day or night. Typically, you may receive a telephone call in the middle of the night. We ask all foster families to return calls promptly, even if they are unable to accept the child or children.
