How are chemical burns actually treated?

Hello Here im not talking about toxic corrosives like hydrofluoric acid, or eye injuries – OK, just the common nasties burning your hand. Chemical burns are very similar to thermal burns and are managed in a similar way. For minor, 1st degree burns, they are flushed with teped water for 15 minutes and a dry sterile dressing applied. The dressing is left in place for a couple of days then removed if all is well. For more serious 2nd and 3rd degree burns, again the area is flushed with tepid water for 15 minutes then a ‘Flamazine’ dressing is applied. A Flamazine dressing is just a regular sterile dry dressing with a very thick and generous layer of ‘Flamazine Cream TM’ applied. You use like 100g of cream per large dressing – really cake it on. After a few days the dressing is removed and assessed. If it looks ok then its best left exposed to the air to heal. If it looks a bit infected, then it will be cleaned with sterile saline, another Flamazine dressing applied and you will be put on
