How are Brahma Kumaris centres administered?
A National Brahma Kumaris’ Centre is a registered, non profit-making organisation or charity that operates within the local laws of each country. There is an appointed national co-ordinator who is responsible for the administrative duties within the country and helps in the co-ordination of the local centres. The style and method of administration is done within the climate of the local culture but draws on guidance from the international guidelines of the BK Procedures Manual, a document prepared by an appointed international working group and adopted by all the national and regional co-ordinators worldwide. Most teachers and students live and work in the community and volunteer their time, talents and other resources for running centre activities.
