Because they are chartered, the Boy Scouts’ volunteers must also attend STAND training, which includes the STAND video. Girl Scouts’ volunteers must provide written verification that they have had a criminal history screening. A Covered Entity may choose to offer assistance with the screening. 44. If a scout leader has completed a child and youth protection program through the scouting program, do they need to complete the volunteer requirements of the Archdiocese if they plan to volunteer at a Covered Entity? Training offered by other organizations: i.e. Boy Scouts of America, Little League, area public schools, etc. may not be substituted for the Archdiocese protection of children and youth training.
