Zach S. Henderson Library has a comprehensive Approval Plan with Blackwell North America. This plan provides for the automatic shipment of new academic books published and distributed in the United States. The Library uses the approval plan as a primary tool to build and maintain a core collection. A detailed description of the type of academic books the library wishes to acquire is provided to the approval vendor. These descriptions are called profiles. Each week the vendor receives books from publishers and compares the books with our profile. The books that match our profile are received in weekly shipments. As the books are processed in the Collection and Resource Services Department they are placed on shelves for review and records are entered into the Library’s OPAC. The Library Committee, a standing committee of the Faculty Senate, advises the Dean of the Library on budget allocations, resources, and services. Each year the academic departments appoint or elect a Library Liaison
