How are birthdays handled in class?
A letter will go home with the child about 2 weeks before their birthday explaining how birthdays work. Your child may bring a small wrapped treat or goodie bag for each student in the class (20 students) on the day we celebrate their birthday. Your child will hand out the treat at the end of the day before the children go home. Parents can decide if they want their child to consume the treat or not. They will not be eaten at school. First thing in the morning we sing and chant for the birthday boy or girl. They receive a birthday crown and sticker and take home the Arthur’s Birthday book with a goodie bag. They read the book and return it in the envelope the next day and the goodie bag is theirs to keep.
