How are birds freighted interstate?
Birds are freighted interstate using Australian Air Express, who in turn use Qantas and there affiliate partners to transport their freight. We can send birds airport to airport to any destination that is serviced by Australian Air Express.The pick up point at your destination is usually at the Australian Air Express front counter which is almost always located within the vicinity of your local airport of choice. The average cost for freight is between $80-$100( more for WA, $130) based on a 2kg box that can house approx 10 birds. This price includes the cost of a new freight box for you to keep.Its is best that once you have picked up your birds from the airport, that you get them to their new home ASAP. It is also recommended that you use ‘Vetafarm Spark Electrovet’ in the birds water for at least 3 days after you recieve your birds, and try to keep them as stress free as possible.
