How are biofuels more environmentally friendly than fossil fuels?
A September 2007 report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) shows that biofuels are responsible for 20% to 90% fewer greenhouse gases than fossil fuels throughout their entire life cycle, from production to combustion. The International Energy Association (IEA) also found that throughout their entire life cycle, biofuels result in an overall reduction of greenhouse gas emissions when compared to petrol.
