How are beagles brought into the BREW Midwest program?
BREW Midwest is contacted by shelters, animal control officers, veterinarian offices and private citizens wanting help to place a beagle or beagle mix. BREW Midwest first asks a list of basic questions including age, sex, why the dog is being surrendered, bite history and any stand out behavior issues. A formal temperament evaluation is then arranged to determine the dog’s placeablity with BREW Midwest. Beagles rescued by BREW Midwest are then brought to our veterinarians for health evaluation, vaccines, fecal exam, heartworm test, and are spayed or neutered. Beagles are then microchipped and placed into a foster home until a permanent loving home can be found.
