How are Base FixPaks Installed?
Currently there are two general approaches to installing Base FixPaks. The first is to download diskette image files (or obtain them from another source) and create diskettes; the second is an automated procedure using an OS/2 ‘web browser such as Netscape/2 or WebExplorer. Both methods require free space on a hard drive for the FixPak replacement files and for archiving the old copies of those files. The diskette-based methods involve more effort, since diskettes have to be created from the image files; the RSU method is more convenient but requires more disk space.
