How are backing stores used with the Naming Service?
The backing stores are pluggable. This means that the type of backing store that one wants to use can be plugged in based on information specified in the configuration (property) file for the Naming Service. The backing stores can be plugged in by means of adaptors. Using an adaptor of a certain type, backing stores which are supported by the adaptor can be accessed. The type of adaptor and, the specific backing store that we want to plug into the Naming Service through the adaptor, are provided to the Naming Service via a configurable property file, which it uses to start up.
