How are are health insurance premiums paid if I enroll in a health care plan through the District?
• First 6 weeks, paid LOA – You are on a paid LOA and are still receiving a paycheck so money will be deducted from your paycheck for premiums exactly the way it was before you went on leave. • Next 6 weeks, unpaid LOA You are now on a unpaid LOA and are no longer receiving a paycheck from the district. You need to submit payment to the district for the amount that would normally have been deducted from your pay check if you were still receiving one. Payments can be done via a check. Contact HR office for more info • Beyond 12 weeks, unpaid LOA You are still on a unpaid LOA, but must now make payments to the district for the full amount of the insurance plan.
