In order to qualify the unmarried and the married applicant have to score 50 and 58 respectively without counting the points for suitability. Suitability carries 10 points and is assessed at personal interview, which is mandatory and is conducted in French.

Successful applicants must receive a minimum of 75 points with at least one year of experience within the past 10 years in one of the occupations listed in either Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
