The annotation of each model component is stored in the corresponding SBML element using the a scheme initially designed by Nicolas Le Novère and Andrew Finney, and now part of SBML Level 2 Version 2. It relies on the use of RDF, Dublin Core, vCard and the BioModels.net qualifiers.
