How are ancient jewellers different from modern day jewellers?
I use to date a jeweler, and sell them myself, but if I had to talk about the differences, not only the styles, but the methods they construct them with differ in that today we have these technologies to gauge exactly how much gold, silver, or amount of precious stones go or have went into a jewelry piece. Jewelry evolved from this notion that it hold special powers or that it was beautiful because it was a “gateway” to a higher power. We see this in tribal areas that rely on jewelry to accessorize or empower their beliefs. I’d like to think halfway through the centuries that it became more relevant that it was priceless because of old beliefs and later into mordern day usage increased in value because of it’s uses. Gold and precious metals are valuable because they ARE used in so many technological systems, including computers. Thus, if this is the case today, then having gold and precious stones or metals established as only “jewelry” as it was in the past would only continually incr
