How are age cut off dates established? Are age exceptions ever made?
The various age cut off dates for programs are set by a variety of guidelines including consistency across programs, NCHSAA guidelines, instructor input etc. Although we recognize, sympathize, and understand some participants may be adversely affected no matter what day is chosen, the department does not make exceptions nor allow participants to move up or down in leagues based on skill level, ability, size, carpooling concerns, etc. The department cannot accommodate all the requests we receive for programs and activities.
